Thai Studio FEARFOLKS Launches LGBT Film Label QVEERFOLKS

Thai film studio FEARFOLKS unveiled QVEERFOLKS, a separate label for LGBT film distribution, in Bangkok on 3 November 2026. According to Khaosod, its first release will be Club Kid by American filmmaker Jordan Firstman. Special screenings in Thailand are scheduled for 19–25 November, with a regular theatrical release from 26 November.

FEARFOLKS specialises in horror films and thrillers. The Thai newspaper Kom Chad Luek reports that the studio plans to release dramas, comedies, melodramas and thrillers made with LGBT directors, screenwriters and actors under the new label. The studio hopes to reach a new audience.

Firstman wrote and directed Club Kid and plays the lead role. His character, a New York party promoter, learns that he has a ten-year-old son. Firstman’s feature debut screened in the Un Certain Regard section of the Cannes Film Festival in May.

The QVEERFOLKS slate also includes the British thriller Black Church Bay, directed by Rhys Marc Jones and starring Tom Cullen, Joe Locke and Marli Siu. The film is set in a fishing village.
