Unilever Presents Campaign Supporting Same-Sex Families at Taiwan Pride

Unilever presented a campaign supporting same-sex families on 31 October 2026 in Taipei, Taiwan’s capital. The company took part in Taiwan LGBT+ Pride for the eighth year in a row and styled its Stand by U booth after a ban-doh, a traditional Taiwanese banquet with round tables.

Unilever invited Akai and Leo, a married couple who run the YouTube channel 夫夫之道 (FuFuKnows), onto its parade float. According to EBC News, the couple said they had registered their marriage on 24 May after ten years together. They likened taking part in the campaign to a rehearsal for their wedding celebration, which they plan to hold in 2027.

At the booth, visitors could cast a vote by choosing a red or white glutinous rice ball and receive a small gift. Daniel Hsiao, Unilever Taiwan’s head of sustainability, explained the idea behind the event by saying that everyone has a place at a shared round table.

At the same parade, Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an again apologised for police conduct during the search of the gay bar Commander D. Uránia reported on his remarks earlier.
