On 6 November 2026, the Associated Press declared California state senator Scott Wiener the winner of the US House election in California’s 11th district. Voting took place on 3 November. According to KQED, Wiener defeated San Francisco supervisor Connie Chan. Both candidates ran as Democrats.

Wiener had 54.6% of the votes counted to Chan’s 45.4% when AP called the race, Axios reported. The district is currently represented by former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who decided to leave Congress and endorsed Chan. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Wiener will be the first openly gay person elected to Congress from San Francisco.

Chan conceded on 4 November. She said she expected the margin to narrow as more ballots were counted and congratulated Wiener on his win. In his statement, Wiener thanked Chan for her campaign and listed housing construction, wider access to health care and investment in public transport among his priorities.

In its 5 November election roundup, Uránia reported that Wiener was leading the vote count in his district.
