Facebook Page for Gay Reform UK Supporters Sparks Dispute
On October 30, 2026, British LGBT publication Scene reported on a dispute over Gays for Reform UK, a new Facebook page for supporters of the British party Reform UK. The Stop LGBTQ+ Hate Online campaign issued a statement after some participants in the discussion interpreted its criticism of the page as hostility towards gay people who support the party.
In a screenshot published by Scene, Gays for Reform UK describes itself as an unofficial group and uses rainbow imagery. A caption on the image calls a gay Reform UK supporter an oxymoron and plays on the word by emphasising moron.
Responding to the accusations, Stop LGBTQ+ Hate Online said it supports the rights of all LGBT people regardless of their political views. The campaign said it could defend Reform UK supporters against homophobia while also criticising their choice of party. It argues that Reform UK’s policies and rhetoric harm parts of the LGBT community.
Urania previously reported on a More in Common poll conducted in England, Scotland and Wales in late 2025. In the headline voting-intention estimate, Reform UK had around 25% support among gay and bisexual men.
