West Hollywood City Council in California approved a registry for multi-partner relationships on November 2, 2026. As PinkNews reports, the measure passed 5–0 and takes effect 30 days after adoption.

Ordinance No. 26-13 covers relationships involving at least three consenting adults who take responsibility for one another’s welfare. It provides for partner visits to healthcare facilities and jails under city jurisdiction, subject to general restrictions, and protections concerning rental housing. Registration does not provide all the rights of marriage.

In written comments to the council, supporters requested a minimum of two participants and removal of the ban on simultaneously belonging to another registered relationship.
