US Republican Fund Denies Link to Messages About Transgender Teenagers
On October 29, 2026, The Texas Tribune reported that court-disclosed testimony from messaging service Infobip lists the name of the Republican Women’s Caucus Fund political committee among clients linked to texts about resources for transgender teenagers received by residents of the US state of Texas. The fund denied involvement in both the texts and a similar mail campaign, saying it had not authorized, funded or coordinated them.
On November 1, the Houston Chronicle reported a further denial from the fund’s lawyer, Steve Roberts. He said it was unclear why the provider had associated the organization’s telephone number with the activity. Mimi Marziani, a lawyer for the advocacy organization Transgender Education Network of Texas (TENT), told the newspaper that the ultimate organizer of the messages remained unknown.
The texts, received by Texans from October 12, linked to TENT’s website and offered resources on school bathrooms and medical care for transgender teenagers. TENT says it neither commissioned nor sent the messages and reported receiving threats. Infobip told CBS Texas it did not create the content and only transmitted customers’ messages.
Printed mailers were separately distributed from October 17 under the name Texas Transgender Student Union LLC (TTSU), a company registered in Wyoming. They also mentioned TENT, which denies any connection to the sender.
TENT went to court to identify the senders. As KUT radio reported, TTSU lawyer Chris Hilton opposed identifying his clients, citing the US Constitution’s First Amendment protection of free speech and possible harm from revealing their names. TENT believes its name was used without permission, resulting in threats and disruption to its work. The organization also suspects an attempt to provoke voters before the election.
On October 30, the Supreme Court of Texas temporarily halted a deposition of a TTSU representative intended to help identify the mail campaign’s organizers. The official orders list in case No. 26-1246 states that the company’s petitions remain pending.
The Republican Women’s Caucus Fund is a political committee registered with the US Federal Election Commission in March 2025. On its website, it describes its mission as supporting Republican women lawmakers.
