US Entrepreneur Jeff Hammerberg Creates LGBT-Friendly Business Directory

The Washington Blade reported on October 23, 2026, that American entrepreneur Jeff Hammerberg had created GayBusiness.com, a nationwide US directory of LGBT-friendly and LGBT-owned businesses.

The service lets users search by city and type of service. Categories include real estate, legal services, psychotherapy, home repairs and maintenance, travel, restaurants and nightlife.

Under the directory’s current terms, commercial businesses receive a permanent listing in exchange for a one-time $99 contribution to an eligible LGBT organization of their choice. There is no subscription or annual fee. Nonprofit organizations that meet the project’s requirements can list for free.

The “How it works” page explains that contributions go through the charitable giving platform Every.org. GayBusiness.com says it neither receives nor retains these funds, although third-party payment-processing fees may apply. Its sponsor, GayRealEstate.com, covers the directory’s operating costs.

Business owners supply their own profiles.

According to the Washington Blade, Hammerberg founded GayRealEstate.com in 1996 to help LGBT home buyers and sellers find real estate agents. He sold the company in 2024 and remained involved during the handover to its new owners. He now lives in Lisbon, Portugal’s capital.
