Rights Group LGB International Releases Personal Essay Anthology for Bisexual Visibility Day

In late September 2026, the international human rights federation LGB International and its American affiliate LGB Alliance USA marked Celebrate Bisexuality Day (Bisexual Visibility Day) with the release of a free digital anthology titled “BI”: Stories from Bisexuals Around the Globe. The collection features ten personal essays by bisexual men and women from seven countries across Europe and Asia, alongside two guest reflections by a gay and a lesbian author, examining the reality of living with an attraction to both sexes, widespread stereotypes, and erasure within both broader society and LGBT activist spaces.
According to a press release distributed via Substack by LGB Alliance USA and information on the project’s official website , the publication was curated by an international volunteer team led by Taiwanese project coordinator Vivian Go and Dutch journalist and editor Sybilla Claus. The contributors, ranging in age from 25 to 70, represent diverse backgrounds across the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Finland, India, and Taiwan. Among them are British journalist Jo Bartosch, Finnish researcher Toni Lappalainen, Indian writer Arin Azad, and Dutch author Tessa. To accompany the launch, LGB International released a special podcast episode featuring several contributors and British LGB Alliance co-founder Bev Jackson.
Throughout the anthology, authors address personal struggles with biphobia, assumptions about infidelity or indecision, and pressure from contemporary gender-identity discourse that conflates biological sex with gender concepts. LGB International Chairman Frederik Schmincke affirmed the organization’s definition of bisexuality as attraction to both biological sexes (“Bi means two”), welcoming the book as a vital contribution to recognizing sexual orientation grounded in biological reality. Project coordinator Vivian Go noted that this digital release marks the opening phase of a multi-year global campaign to gather accounts from bisexual individuals on every continent—particularly from regions where homosexual and bisexual conduct remains criminalized—ahead of a planned print volume.
LGB International is a global federation of independent national organizations (including LGB Alliance groups in the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany, Australia, and other jurisdictions) advocating for the rights of lesbians, gay men, and bisexuals based strictly on biological sex. The alliance defines sexual orientation as sex-based rather than gender-based, defending single-sex spaces and distinguishing gay and bisexual advocacy from transgender activism and pediatric medical transition.
Previously, Urania covered LGB Alliance’s presence at the UK Conservative Party conference , detailed the decision of the American gay conservative group Log Cabin Republicans to refocus strictly on LGB rights , and reported on their recent endorsements in the US congressional elections .
