Russian Ruling Party Deputy Tells Students the Country Will Be Run by Gays Without His Party

In the city of Kansk, Krasnoyarsk Krai (Russia), the chairman of the local district council of deputies, Vladimir Polyakov, stated at a meeting with students of the Kansk Polytechnic College that if they do not support the “United Russia” party, the country will be ruled by homosexuals. A video recording of a fragment of the speech was published by Russian political scientist Alexei Aksyutenko on his Telegram channel.

According to the published audio fragment, during a conversation with students, Polyakov, who is a member of the “United Russia” party, gave them an ultimatum. “If you want to live so that we have homosexuality, then come and say so. If you want to live in a normal country, where there are normal men and normal girls, you must come and vote,” the deputy said, adding that “United Russia” presents “strong candidates” that are not found in other parties.

Vladimir Polyakov himself was elected to the Kansk district council in 2025 and is not currently participating in the ongoing election campaigns. The speech was addressed to students who are set to vote for a new composition of the Legislative Assembly of Krasnoyarsk Krai and deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation in the upcoming elections.

“United Russia” is the Russian ruling political party, holding a majority in parliament and supporting the country’s president’s policies. In recent years, the party has actively promoted “traditional values,” which has been accompanied by the adoption of a series of laws restricting the rights of LGBT people in Russia, including the ban on the “propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations” and the recognition of the so-called “international LGBT public movement” as an extremist organization.
