Islamist-Linked Driver Rams Van into Crowd at Berlin LGBT Pride: 1 Dead, 17 Injured

On the evening of July 25, 2026, a white van drove into a crowd of participants at the annual LGBT Pride (Christopher Street Day) in Berlin. According to police, the incident occurred around 10:00 p.m. in Tiergarten park. As a result of the collision, one woman was killed and at least 17 other people were injured. Several victims are in critical condition.

After driving through the crowd, the van collided with a tree. The driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. Witnesses reported that the attackers may have wielded bladed weapons after the crash; this information is currently being investigated by security forces.

According to law enforcement statements , police are searching for the suspect, who is currently at large and may be armed. Authorities have published a photo and description of 21-year-old Abdul D., who has ties to local Islamist groups. According to preliminary data, the Muslim man was not acting alone. Law enforcement is investigating the incident as a terrorist attack.

Following the incident, police immediately ended all Pride events and evacuated attendees from the Brandenburg Gate. Thermal imaging cameras were used to search for the perpetrator in the park, which was closed overnight. More than 2,200 police officers were on duty in the city that day to secure the parade.
