Russian Courts Order Blocking of Access to Three Books with LGBT Themes

Moscow courts have issued rulings requiring Roskomnadzor to block access to several online libraries hosting three books with LGBT themes. This was reported by Parni PLUS .

The books in question are “Everybody: A Book About Freedom” by Olivia Laing, “The Miseducation of Cameron Post” by Emily M. Danforth, and “Leah on the Offbeat” by Becky Albertalli. The decisions were made by the Lefortovo and Simonovsky district courts in May 2026. The blocking of the websites is scheduled to take effect on August 18.

The court rulings state that these books contain signs of propaganda of non-traditional sexual relations and gender transition, and form an attractive image of homosexual relations. These works have previously appeared in cases against publishers and bookstores under the Russian law banning “LGBT propaganda”.
