UK Prime Minister Calls British Parliament the "Gayest" in the World

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has stated that his government intends to protect the rights of LGBT people. The politician made the statement during a Pride Month reception at his Downing Street residence.

During his speech, Starmer called the British parliament the “gayest” in the world. “I am really proud that we have got the gayest Parliament. I don’t think there is any parliament that is gayer than this one,” the Prime Minister noted .

Starmer also listed the government’s main priorities in the area of equality. These include a plan to end new HIV transmissions by 2030, changes to hate crime laws, and a ban on “conversion practices,” which he described as a “very sinister idea.”

Additionally, the Prime Minister mentioned the past dismissals of LGBT people from the British military, calling it a historic injustice that the authorities are working to correct. Concluding his speech, Starmer emphasized that he will continue to support the rights of the LGBT community even after leaving the office of the head of government.
