American Politician Scott Wiener Chased Away From San Francisco Trans March Over Gaza Stance

On June 26, 2026, during the Trans March in San Francisco, a group of protesters forced California State Senator Scott Wiener to leave the event. The politician, known for his support of LGBT initiatives, was criticized for his position on the war in Gaza.

As reported by Townhall , march participants surrounded the politician, shouting profanities and accusing him of supporting Israel’s actions. Videos published online show Wiener walking away from the crowd of protesters. The senator himself later stated that he was subjected to verbal abuse and physical intimidation, which made it impossible for him to safely remain in the park. This is the first time since 2004 that Wiener has not participated in the Trans March.

Scott Wiener, an openly gay man, is one of the most active supporters of LGBT legislation in California. In particular, he authored laws to reduce the penalty for intentional HIV infection and to change the rules for registering sex offenders. Wiener is currently running for the US Congress for the seat previously held by Nancy Pelosi.

According to US media, clashes between some participants and the police also occurred after the march, resulting in the arrest of five people.
